Symphony: Music to My Mouth

What do these items have in common? Only the best brownies I've ever put in my mouth. I must give full credit where it is due. A friend Kacey Parker, made me a plate of these brownies. This is totally her idea. Brownies are not a dessert that tempts me. But I could eat the whole pan of these :) You can use boxed brownies. First you pour half of the brownie batter in your pan, then lay the Symphony bars across the top (Kacey used 3 but depends on the size of the bar), then pour the second half of the batter over the candy bars. The toffee bits in the candy bar are a bonus. Bake according to directions on box. The result? An ooey gooey goodness that will have your mouth screaming for more!



Not the actual brownie of course. We ate them all before a picture was taken :)

I stumbled on a blog today that has some of the best photography I've ever seen. It's called New Vintage Photography. Is there anything this woman (Jen Howell) cannot photo perfectly? While glancing through the collections I decided to post a few that cought my eye. Can you tell I like green?Moda Crib set by Glenna Jean. I love the rest of the nursery decor. I would have never thought to use that kind of lighting in a nursery but it looks so rad.

PeCAN or PeCON?

Down south they call them PeCANs. I recently stumbled on the best Pecan Cluster I've ever sunk my teeth into. It is made by Sunnyland Farms a mom and pop shop in Albany Georgia. We gave them to our clients as Christmas gifts. This week the boss gave leftovers to the employees. WOW. The Pecans are jumbo size and picked fresh, for candy making. They also sell other fresh nuts and many great treats. Watch out Nestle!

Aren't these cute V-Day Cookies from The Popcorn Factory? A nice variation from hearts.

These are the most elegant cookies I have seen. So classy! Find them here at the Signature Sweet Shop. They do much more then V-Day cookies.

A twist on strawberries

Looking for a way to turn strawberries into an EASY, not so unhealthy treat? Yes I said treat!
Wash them, slice them, and pour some white grape juice on them. Not so they are drowning, just enough to cover the strawberries. Result? A tangy twist on the versatile berry, that is great for brunch, a light desert or a sweet snack.

Race to the hook!

When I got married we used a gift card from Williams-Sonoma to buy this honey of an apron in red. We've also used other aprons, but both scramble to get this one off of the hook first. We finally broke down last week and bought the khaki version of this apron. It's durable, yet has clean simple lines. When it comes to aprons, workhorse versions are the best.

French Country

This is my most recent sale. My boss commissioned me to make a baby blanket for a baby shower she was going to. She wanted me to use fabric with a french country scene and the color to be french country blue. It is dang hard to find those requirements in flannel. Persistence pays off!
